My friend is having issues with her trussing.?

Question:Ok, so my friend has a brand new guitar and the neck bowed on it. So she trussed the thing exactly how the manual said to and let it sit so that the neck could straighten out. The neck is now visibly bowed more than it was, but she says that the strings feel closer to the frets somehow. Any ideas?

Is she new to guitaring? Bet more time spend on it u will gat used to it...
