Position:Home>Visual Arts> Clearing Storm. What do you think of this picture?Question: Clearing Storm!. What do you think of this picture!? I took this today as a winter storm was clearing!.
http://www!.postmyimage!.com/images/images!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I like this shot; mainly because it has a well-balanced and successful composition that doesn't conform to the rules!. Horizon half-way up the pic; neither trees nor church fully visible; rule of thirds more or less inoperative!. But it works!. A fine example of intuitive composing!. Limited palette of colours, with the most distant object in the most 'advancing' colour helps to make a shot with plenty of impact!. A query: did you wait for the sky to clear to full blue in order to take another shot!? I think that this, if it had happened, would have made a good shot better!. Small criticism: I would have been tempted to move my viewpoint slightly to the left so that the tree covered the red chimney growing out of the church roof!.Www@QuestionHome@Com its hard to say on screen is what i was going to say, however i correct that to - its the boldness and the difference that challanges and maybe thats why we have trouble getting our heads around it!? i like being challenged, the fact the red draws one in to the point where its almost unbearable to accept its real is what is so challenging!? , so we try to normalise it!? anyway i think its very kool and very strong EDIT: The bit of red by the tree trunk in the chimney!. - this can be left as is, or maybe i would enhance the image and remove itWww@QuestionHome@Com It's a stunning shot and the red makes it even more dramatic!. Such life in the middle of snow and headstones!. I do find the bit of chimney a distraction only because you can not tell what it is!. Had it been completely hidden or totally in view I think it would be better!. Of course with a tad of manipulation it could "go away"!. Wonderful shot, though!Www@QuestionHome@Com The photo is very abstract for me!. I like your use of sharp-edged, cut forms; most visible in the snow, and the structure itself!. The saturated color of the church is, for me, not to big of a factor!. I think it adds to the overall "feel" of the photo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I definitely think it's an interesting picture, however the red is a little too red!. Tone it down a little bit and I think it will be much better!. It kinda looks like the red was drawn on there!.!. was it!? Do you have a larger version of this photo!? EDIT: That's awesome!. Definitely try taking down the red just a tad and see how it looks then!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I like it!. The red really stands out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yeah, I like it too!.!.!.!. If the church was not red!.!. it may not have worked!.!. Bob - TucsonWww@QuestionHome@Com |
