Submission


The pastel colors of the evening sky
Sank into the Pacific Ocean!. Layer after
Layer of reds, blues and orange were gently
But firmly sandwiched between the cool hand
Of night, and the submitting reflections that
Still shimmered in defiance as the sea gauged
Itself upon that which would not satisfy its
Hunger!.
The sun had long been devoured, snuffed out
As quickly as a child could blow out the candles
On a birthday cake made up of many sweet layers
Of colored sponge!. Knives would plunge deep into
Its heart and once divided asunder; each morsel would
Be greedily gobbled up by ever open ever screaming
Little mouths!.
Night is gentle to the fading day, for it is by mutual
Friendly persuasion and acceptance that the last
Colors of evening submit themselves to the sea, while
The gloaming cloaks the instance of visual perception
Of embracing lovers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
