Question: How are poems made/ a discredited view!?
Much talk of poem and poets yesterday!. Here is Alice Walker

HOW POEMS ARE
MADE/A
DISCREDITED VIEW

Letting go
in order to hold on
I gradually understand
how poems are made!.

There is a place the fear must go!.
There is a place the choice must go!.
There is a place the loss must go!.
The leftover love!.
The love that spills out
of the too full cup
and runs and hides
its too full self
in shame!.

I gradually comprehend
how poems

are made!.
To the upbeat flight of memories!.
The flagged beats of the running
heart!.

I understand how poems are made!.
They are the tears
that season the smile!.
The stiff-neck laughter
that crowds the throat!.
The leftover love!.

I know how poems are made!.

There is a place the loss must go!.
There is a place the gain must go!.
The leftover love!.

"I understand how poems are made!.

The leftover love!."

With the exception of the last line of this stanza, this stanza is all I could relate to and react to!.

Thanks for posting it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

poems are made, but the best has been
created < creativity<poetic style< literature < language< imagery < talent < sensibility!.

"They are the tears
that season the smile!.
The stiff-neck laughter
that crowds the throat!.
The leftover love!."
all are sensible stimuli which their impact on the poet depends on his sensibility!.

"the leftover is love!." is very true!.!. it can't be hate, because he would be a monstrous poet: the poet of the prince, who would love to make people believe that 'Every thing is okay' when every thing is corrupted!.

thanks for posting this poem, ms!. dahha!. t!.y!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Alice Walker is a genius, i was just thinking yesterday how I write my poetry and where it all comes from and this poem describes that beautifully - this is absolute brilliance and it captures the process of writing a poem with such accuracy that its almost mind-boggeling

i loved it, i loved it, i loved it
Well DoneWww@QuestionHome@Com

its elementary and blantantly boring!.!.Geez laweez

its been said a million times how distorted sugar love causes sudden
emotion to comprehend the variants of woes and fluffy toes!.!.
there isn't a hint of imagination and i was disappointed
for the lack of
spiritual revelations between her left overs!.

give me a Poet that knows how to intimidate originality and
make it slave forever

Although!.!.[my finger on lips, gazing upward]!.!.!. there are more simpletons on earth then birds have busted wings, as far as i have noticed!.!.
but if one soul can enjoy it then i suppose its not in vain after all!.!.!.

maybe its beautiful, maybe im too complicated to deal with it

sure, why not!.!.!.its your turn to be bored outta your mind !. LOL

i cant get into it!.!.!.not this time!.!.!.sorry, mateWww@QuestionHome@Com
