Position:Home>Poetry> Will you help me find the theme/ meaning of this poem?Question: Will you help me find the theme/ meaning of this poem!? Erosion By: E!.J!. Pratt It took the sea a thousand years, A thousand years to trace The granite features of this cliff, In crag and scarp and base!. It took the sea an hour one night, An hour of storm to place The sculpture of these granite seams Upon a woman's face!. --------------------------------------!.!.!. Okay, well we have to pick a poem and state the theme, and just discuss what you think it means!. I think in the first stanza, it says that it took many years for the sea to erode the cliff leaving gashes and such!. In, the second stanza, it switches gears to a woman!. I think that it is comparing the cliffs to her face, and she lost someone out in sea because of a storm!. So, it took only one night to "erode" her face, because she was so hurt from her loss!. What do you think!?!? Oh and would you please help me with a them statement!!?! THANKS SO MUCH :)Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think you've answered your own question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
