Memories Of
In the sultry summer heat
In my childhood mind
I wander back and reminisce
On the Things I left behind!.
In the middle of the Pasteur
Where the cows came out to graze
Stood one lone tree
That I would climb
And sit there while it sways!.
The wind would rock me gently
I would daydream and pretend
Waiting for the cows to leave
So I could come down again!.
The woods were full of magic
The light came in through branches
The paths were winding
All around me
With no one minding
I did my silly dances!.!.!.
I took so many chances !.
Chased butterflies with nets
Collected stray dogs as my pets
Rolled down hills of fresh cut grass
The days were long and slow to pass!.
These are happy memories
I struggle to hold onto
The ones that make me cry
I shut away for now!.
In a cupboard
Closed up tight
Safely out of sight!.
