What we repress can come back and haunt us, but in disguise!. We may get certain symptoms, do certain slips of the tongue, for instance, or simply feel depressed and not remember why!. If we try hard to avoid something, this can become a difficult task!. also, we may lose something else while avoiding something!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In some ways yes; particularly negatives, which in turn, may imprison us!. Instead of addressing issues or negatives!. Which in turn can imprison us!. However, I agree with Tracy T's viewpoint, sometimes ignorance is bliss given that if we do not decide to ignore some things happening around us; great stress sets in and we may, on certain days, end up emotional messes!

The second only psychic once said to me: you draw or notice the dark side/happenings around you a fair bit!. Be still and enjoy the positive happenings around you more!. She was correct 3 years ago stating this!. That year was a highlight in my life: what I chose to ignore was best for my safety, health and happiness!. On the other hand, I chose NOT to ignore my 20yr marriage had deteriorated shockingly and I ended it NOT making me a prisoner any longer nor my husband a prisoner any longer!. Answer: if we choose to ignore what we intuitively know is best for us; we have a problem!. If we choose to ignore issues/situations that make us prisoners and closed up people and unhappy: we have a problem!. If we choose to ignore negatives around us in order to be less stressful during certain weeks; well and good!. I see most things around me far too much!. Highly observant unfortunately, which makes life a tad too stressful at times!. I am the reverse of ignorant and believe me sometimes I wish that I'd ignore myself/issues/other peoples issues/happenings around me!. More bliss/happiness/peace for those more ignorant than I!. it is sometimes true!. if you were unfortunate in ignoring one thing, it'll come back to an important part of your life and can make you miserable or lose something precious along with it!. so we should be careful on what we let pass by, isn't it!?

circumstances really vary but I'd say it would depend on the attitude of a person!. it's on how he/she would make a stand after something he misses out and regret no matter how painful it could be!.

I kind of agree with your question yes, but sometimes by ignoring what we dont want to see we can live a more calmer existence, as the saying goes "ignorance is bliss"!. It does change the way we behave too, perhaps we feel more at ease by not always facing reality all the time!. However, i suppose in some respects, it does make us prisoners to our own ignorance, but if it is the easier option and helps us live a more care free life then i think its ok to ignore certain things, as long as we are prepared for some consequences of these actions!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would agree!. Everyday I see how people ignore God (including myself)!. Because of our collective lack of faith we close ourselves off to the Reality of Divinity thus we are oblivious to why things are as they are!. We are subject to what we hold in mind as true!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
