Question: I need a song to sing for Wizard of Oz!?
I'm trying out for the Wizard of Oz, and I need to sing a song as part of my audition!.
I want to play Dorthy!.
I have an Alto voice, however I can go a bit higher or lower!. I want a song that will fit my voice, but shows that I fit and can perform the part perfectly!.
Any sugestions!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, since you are going out for dorothy, her big song is "somewhere over the rainbow" if you can't do that song, think of one that is similar in subject, i think that "Part of Your World" from the litter mermaid would be fantastic!. It'd show your grasp of that character as well as your vocal range =]

Don't sing anything from Wicked - it's not clever, it's horribly overdone and it's in completely the wrong style!. Avoid "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" unless it's specifically asked for as well!. I'd be looking at other Harold Arlen songs - he wrote loads of wonderful songs apart from the Wizard of Oz!. Here are a few:
- Get Happy (made famous by Judy Garland)
- It's Only A Paper Moon
- Stormy Weather
- I've Got The World on a StringWww@QuestionHome@Com

'somewhere over the rainbow'!.
Something from the 'Wiz'!. 'Ease on down the road'!.
Or maybe 'defying gravity' from 'wicked'Www@QuestionHome@Com
