Yes, there were many more events bigger than the Fab Four playing their love songs for teenage girls in 1964, or watching their first film, 'Hard Days Night!.'

The biggest event occurred on August 4, when U!. S!. air strikes were ordered against DRV (Democratic Republic of Vietnam) targets, after the questionable Gulf of Tonkin "Incident" (August 2-4) off the coast of Vietnam!. This was in effect the beginning of America's undeclared war on Vietnam!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It would have to be the assassination of John F!. Kennedy!. I was 4 living in Los Angels at the time, but I remember the breaking news very clearly!. This event not only impacted me, but the United States and the world as a whole!. Since this event is well documented, I don't think a description of the event is necessary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

sorry, kennedy was assassinated in november of 1963
I think if you're in school and some teacher is asking this, it's probably the civil rights act of 1964!. It was one of the first things done by the government to change the "place" of blacks in american society since the days of reformation and acts passed in 1877!. (no more segregation etc!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com
