We have: Beatrice & Arthur = Brother & Sister Bruce & Andrew = 1st cousins Betty & Alice = 2nd cousins babara evelyn & Annette = 3rd cousins Your mother, "Betty" (or father, but "Betty" is an odd name for a man!. <grin>) is second cousin to "Alice"!. That makes you her second cousin once removed, since she is one generation "removed" from you!. When "Alice" has a child, ("Annette"), that child will be your third cousin!.
