Although I was not a ballerina by any standards, I did recreational dance for a few years and learned a lot in my time there!.

If your studio has Cecchetti (which I probably just butchered the spelling of), a ballet class internationally known with grades one through seven, at about grade three I believe you will start learning point!.

However, if you are in a regular ballet class, I would suggest talking to your teacher and asking on what you can improve upon!. Having correct turnout and doing routine exercises outstandingly will be of enormous help!. also knowing terminology shows that you are serious about moving up!.

Pointe can be dangerous if you are not prepared!. This is why it may seem to take so long to finally get the okay!. Your feet will hurt from the blisters and your legs will be sore from simply going up on point!. Injuries from not using the pointe shoes correctly happen a great deal and some are lasting injuries that can be a problem for the rest of your life!.

Good luck to you and I hope I helped, even if it is just a little bit!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was 12 when I got my pointe shoes, but I have been doing ballet since I was 3!. My teacher said that I was ready because I always when as far up on relevé as I could!. Then I would try to hold my balance while still keeping my placement!. After about a month of practice, I finally got strong enough to do that!. I was on pointe then!. Try to pointe as hard as you can around your teacher!. also fold all of your extra clothing, such as jackets and sweatpants!. This will show her you are very careful and responsible with your belongings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The thing is that your not ready for pointe or you'd be on!. To get to that level, you need to work you feet and ankles every day!. Point you feet for 30 seconds as hard as you can (your arches should start to cramp) do this a couple times daily!. Sit on a chair and cross your legs!. Do ankle rolls and write the alphabet with the foot in the air!. When it starts to hurt go for at least another minute!. These are 2 basic exercises to strengthen for pointe!. Ifyou want any more just ask :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can point your toes extra hard when she watches you dance, or you can just talk to her after class about it!. trust me, they know when your ready!. you might think your ready, but she could think differently!.

Keep working hard & Good Luck!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
