Always warm up! I've been doing pointe for a while!. You need to do lots of exercise for your ankles!. And as someone else mentioned- I find lambs wool padding the best also!.

Just be confident and practise! also, break your shoes HALF in so you can still work your feet!. This will give you a better arch and more strength!.

Good luck in the future! Just remember your teachers will most likely take it easy for a few weeks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've just started a ballet/pointe class myself!. It's pretty exciting! :) :)
At first it'll all be really confusing!. You'll only be focused on the stepping for a while when you start because you're trying to get a hang!. Then you've got to get your count, the steps, and at one point perfect your arms!. You're also going to have to contort your body in some ways, but just for flexibility!. It's also got a lot of abs!. It's good if you've got some jazz experience!.

Good Luck! Hope you like your classes!Www@QuestionHome@Com

it will be hard for a while!.
lucky for me, i have never had a single blister!.
just make sure you do lots of ankle warm ups and strengthen your ankles as much as possible!.

GOOD LUCK GIRL! pointe is always so much fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best advice I can give you is to break your shoes as soon as you can and make sure that you use enough (but not too much) padding - I always thought that lamb's wool is best!.
And expect blisters!.
Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
