Position:Home>General - Arts & Humanities > Growing up too fast?

Question:I'm only fifteen years old but usually mistaken for
19 - 21 years old. Last year I decided to be home
schooled and now i'm moving at fast pace. I will be
graduating high school probably by late July due to
my fast pace with home schooling. Then I plan to
attend a college but not sure which one yet. I've already
managed huge music charity events all by myself. Also
most people I know are all older then me usaully by four
years or more. Do you think i'm growing up too fast? Or
do you think i'm just trying to get a good jumpstart on my
adult life? To myself I don't think i'm missing out on my
childhood, I just don't like being held back or have interest
of what most people my age have interest in it.

hun, ur not growing up too fast...

it's understandable that you want to get ahead in life and beat other kids to that high school diploma...it's very good that someone ur age has already accomplished what college students usually do (i.e. managing music charity events) while all the other kids are obsessed with MySpace and YouTube and other stuff and dont give a damn about what they want to be when they get older...

quite frankly i think more kids should be like you...u seem very upfront and organized...

remeber that it's not how old u look, but how old u feel inside that counts...

;)

I say go for it. If you feel comfortable doing what you're doing, there's no reason to stop just because you're ahead of the rest of your age group. Good luck. ;)

its never bad to be ahead of the game. If you are driven and focused then getting an early start on what takes others much longer is your reward.

There is a lot to be said for slowing down and and enjoying your life at the age you are. But it is what makes you happy that counts. I am in my fifties now and have worked as long as I can remember. Growing up on a farm you didn't have a lot of free time, no room for slackers there. But I do have some great childhood memories of just being a care free kid.
The real world comes to soon, just be sure you are ready for all of that and don't burn out.
