Strange yes, surprising no!.

If you are concerned about the content being to mature bring up the issue with your aunt/uncle!. Your age group is okay (not great but okay) because it is 12+ book!. However, the content really is a high school level!. Part of the problem is that the reading level of Twilight is 4th grade, so an advance 2nd-3rd grade reader shouldn't have problem in that area!. With kids that age group, the sexual undertone is likely to go over their heads!. The concern then becomes whether or not an 8 year old can understand what's going on!. I don't underestimate what kid's that age can grasp, it's just that I don't think Bella and Edward are that great of role models!. Oh well, there isn't much that can be done!. I was reading some interesting stuff at that age too (violence, romance made me want to gag), so I can't say much!. Like I said talk with you aunt/uncle about it if you don't think your cousin should be reading it (you might want to inform them that even though the first book isn't bad, book 4 is borderline adult content)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why would it be strange!? It's about as mature as Cinderella is and has the same target audience as Harry Potter!. Loads of eight year olds have read Harry Potter!.

I'm surprised if she's enjoying it, though!. Without massive hormones exaggerating every urple description of Edward's hotness, there really isn't much going on at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's a bit strange!.!.!. I wouldn't think that the content in them would be appropriate for an eight year old, especially not Breaking Dawn!.!.It doesn't give descriptions really, but it still talks about that kind of stuff a bit!.
There are also words in it that she probably wouldn't recognize, let alone be able to pronounce and understand!. There are a few that even I do not know the meanings of!.

I'm 13, by the way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree that it is strange!. My niece is 8 and I would not like it if she was reading those books!. They are just too advanced for someone her age!.!.!.I don't mean the writing style!. lol I just mean some of the concepts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The appropraite ages for the books are:
twilight:14
new moon:14
Eclipse:15
breaking dawn:16Www@QuestionHome@Com

I only say this cause some of the books have mature content that some kids shouldn't read!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It isn't appropriate!. People wonder how kids get so hyper-sexualized so early, it's reasons like that!. Your Aunt needs to put her foot down!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
