There's a !.gif on Wikipedia that's supposed to exercise your eyes to make them faster!.

http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/File:Eye-ex!.!.!.

Don't allow yourself to subvocalize (say in your head) EVERY word you read!. Skip over "the"s "of"s "a"s and so on!.

There's another method where you skim chunks of text, whether it's a paragraph or a whole page, but you skim it twice to increase your comprehension!.

That's my biggest problem with speed reading!. My comprehension isn't always as good!

Just make sure you keep reading and keep trying to read faster! Practice makes perfect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

there isn't a magic was to increase your reading speed!.
i think one way you could do it, would be to listen to really fast music as you read, (no words in the songs though! a fast drum beat would do) it forces your eyes to follow the same speed and you read faster!.

But!.!.!. I wouldn't do it if I were you!. It takes the essence out of reading!. I used to read really fast, but I realised how I was missing all the good bits, and the stories weren't as exciting!. I suggest, read at your own pace, take your time to enjoy your books!.

But for studying, you can use the above method, helps you summarize chapters quickly!. It's how i got an A for my geography!.

Well honestly it really depends!. For me, I used to be a super fast reader, but as I started reading more challenging and larger books, it took me much longer!. So it does depend on the book, but it also depends on how much information you can take in at a fast pace!. I would say, practice going a little bit faster each time you read, until you get to the point of where you feel satisfied with your pace!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Reading at a slower pace is not a bad thing!. My dad always teased me about how fast I can finish a book!. he says that I skip pages, and don't really devour the words and their meaning!. Some books, I can read super quickly, while others have a more complicated story line!. I think that it all depends on the story you read, but the only way I know of learning how to read faster is by reading more!. Read all of the time, and then read some more!.

I hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The more you read the faster your speed becomes, and the greater diversity of things you read - from newspapers, magazines, pulp books, romance, history, etc, you have to read a lot of different things, and read often!. The more you read the faster you will get!Www@QuestionHome@Com
