Lots of good answers, but I will just make it simple and also suggest you use Mpix!. They use Kodak Endura E surface semi matte paper exposed with Durst Laser printers!. They do color correcting if you feel you need it!. I use a color calibrated monitor and so never allow them to "correct" my photos, but if you are working with a non-calibrated system, I suggest you allow them to correct the color for you!. Give them a try, they supply prints to both professionals and advanced amateurs alike!.

If the original image file is professional to start with, there is not much a lab can do to make it look less than professional unless the chemistry they are using has not been kept up to spec!. If that happens, all you have to do it ask them to reprint the image correctly!. After all they have the the original file and can see how far off there version of the print is !.!.!. unless they are really out of whack and have not calibrated their monitor within the last monthWww@QuestionHome@Com

In your case i suggest developing them somewhere where you can get em on cd at the highest resolution, bring in the cd to us and choose what size, paper, glossy or matte, and the tone ,color, really anything about your print!. The first step would be to insist on matte or lustre finish!. Glossy just screams cheap!. Find a local pro lab who will assist you in color correction, because what you see on your computer screen isn't even close to what will print!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i like costco!. however, if you really want to get fancy and spend money, go to millers lab!. you have to become a member and all!.!.!.its a little bit of process but really really good printers!Www@QuestionHome@Com
