Question:

How can I crop a rectangular image into a circle using GIMP?

I want to crop in a circle, not in a rectangular. Help? If not with GIMP, what other program does that that works with MAC? Preferably a free software.

Sorry, typo, rectangle* I just got GIMP and I'm still figuring it out. Someone more experienced will probably come along with a better suggestion. But I just did it with the ellipse selection tool (you can drag it out into a circle, it just might take several tries to get the circle exactly where you want it). When the selection is active, then you cut and paste the circle into a new page.
