I need an audition song that is well suited for the part of Miss Hannigan from the musical Annie for my high school play!. Im an alto, and I cant sing very high!.

Im thinking "Roxie" from "Chicago"
or "The Best Damn Thing" by Avril Lavigne

Suggestions / which song you would pick / other song ideas

Ethel Merman couldn't sing very high either without her voice breaking, but she could sing loudly!. I would pick a song that best shows your voice off, and that also has a comedic slant, since the role of Miss Hannigan is a comedic role!. "Doing What Comes Naturally" from Annie Get Your Gun might be good, as long as you drop the pitch a few steps!. - LJSWww@QuestionHome@Com

I know this is stupid for an audition song by Miley Cyrus is the only singer I know with a really low voice!. I wouldn't really reccomend it for the audition but then again the song "The Climb" is actually pretty good and could work!. Don't do the Best Damn Thing because it doesn't seem very professional!. we're putting on annie right now!. and i guess u could say im a mezzo soprano cuz i can't sing really high and im not low enough to be an alto and im annie and ughh! its so hard to adjust my voice lol
