Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Antigone and Ismene meet by the gates to decide the fate of polynice!. Creon and the elders decree in hate That traitors have no burial rights Antigone's fury burns in her core she knows the gods are on her side Her brother died fighting a justified war and he will have an afterlife A sentry on orders from the king Discovers the absence of polynice and fetches young antigone who confesses what she did that night But creon is sure that she had help and sends away for Ismene who would rather lie and be put through hell Than betray her sister Antigone Haemon is an honest man He lives with great nobility Against his father, he takes a stand to save ismene and antigone He fails to persuade his stubborn father to release this girl who controls his heart He can't condone it and he would rather never speak to him again, and soon departs Greusome horrors are prepared Her fate is to die in a vacant tomb Steadfast antigone isnt scared Head held high to meet her doom In the chamber, dark and dismal She hangs her self with her robes gold cord Haemon stabs himself beside her Inspired by antigones final words Creons wife, kind Eurydice Finishes her knitting and runs upstairs to give her throat a fatal slice Cursing creon with her final air A creed born out of spite to keep his pride It went against the gods and so he lost it Tiresias warned him before his family died Creon should have listened to the prophetWww@QuestionHome@Com |
