In answer to your poetic inquiry: yes, I believe those are key factors that allow for true poetry to be produced!. To your follow up question: it differs from individual to individual, of course, but one constant I have identified is the ability to address the human condition in such a way that every reader will be able to access the poet's intent!. The less esoteric, the better!. This doesn't mean avoiding writing about one's own life experiences!. Indeed, it means quite the opposite!. But we must be attentive to others' ability to see through our eyes, and so utilize a vocabulary common enough to the general population to let them into the poem!. Emotionally and sensually rich metaphor is my favorite device!. I avoid simile because it's too overt, and the comparison, for me, weakens the blow of our words!. It also requires more words to compare through simile!. Ex1: Her lips danced while she sang: "Kiss them for me" Ex2: Her lips moved like a dancer while she sang: "Kiss them for me"Www@QuestionHome@Com I don't know!. my poetry is not very good as i am quite new to it!.!.!.!. but i just type away about anything and sometimes it end up beign good, if i keep at it!.!.
