Question: A pome about childish misunderstandings!. What do you think!? !?
Laurie Lee, Cider with Rosie, tells of when he first went to school!.!.!.
The teacher kindly told him 'Wait here for the present'
---he was bitterly disappointed at the end of the day when
no present was forthcoming!.
I can sympathise!.
One day in particular I remember!.
Being so upset that I cried,
When a promised tram ride to a Wreck
Simply never materialised!.
All day we spent on the Common
Playing and picnicking, too!.
Great fun was had by everyone
But as the hours ticked by, I knew!.
As always I was to be disappointed
The wreck was too good to be true!.
Finally, seeing my miserable face
Aunt Elsie - (who was quite a dear)
Asked why I looked so pale and wan
Why my eyes were filled up with tears!.
'I wanted to see the wreck' I cried
'See the bones of the pirate crew'
'What are you talking about, my girl!?'
Suddenly, she showed that she knew!.!.!.!.
'You silly girl!. Whatever next!?
Just take a look all around!.
We're standing on the Rec!. right now
The Recreation Ground'
Anyone have any similar true tales to tell!?

This is for Zelda!. Grannyjill has never deleted anyone!. And you have a lot of nerve saying that to such a kind person!. On the other hand, I`m not as kind as she!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
A humourous story/poem portraying childhood innocence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Grannyjill you crack me up! (That's a good thing!)
Someone 'round here is making me want to use language that doesn't come naturally for me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Now I'm wrecked!.!.!.torn between a tear and chuckles!.!.!.silly girl!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Lighthearted, yes!.!.!.but I actually think it's quite imaginative and not too badly put together for someone who doesn't claim to be a poet!. I've seen far worse from some of the so-called 'biggies' on here!.
Grannyjill!.!.!.are you saying that ANDREW M and Judith S are one and the same!? (Now it begins to make sense!.) Anyway, I tried to pay you a compliment, just as I have tried to help you on a couple of your poems, but you prefer to side with fools and liars!. My avatar is my own and no one else who may have contacted you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
