Question: Humans in Universe, future of our society!?
Hubble images have revealed an extraordinary image of how big our universe is, it is perhaps edgeless and infinite!. Millions/Billions/!?!?!? of galaxies within which there are planets, may be one like Earth!.
Will humans, while terrestrial life is existent, be able to travel outside of Milky Way galaxy and really fly out there millions of light years away to settle a new society and perpetuate life away from home!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

With current technology not yet, but we are pushing the frontier with the Mars mission!. As for getting out of the galaxy, that would take much effort to say the lease!. To put things in perspective:

The journey to Mars which is 55,758,006 km away would take approximately 11 months of traveling in a space craft at 5 million km per months!.

The next star to our solar system is Proxima Centauri at about 4!.22 light-years away!. To get there would take about 6!.7 × 10^5 years at 5 million km per month!. It is already a mind boggling distance to travel and an incredible amount of time to past!.

The Milky Way is 100,000 light-years in diameter and on an average about 1,000 light-years thick!. It would take 15!.8 billion years to travel across the galaxy which is more than 13!.8 billion years - the time since Big Bang!.

In about 5 billion years, our sun will run out of fuel and turn into a Red Giant, earth will be no more!. Hopefully we have developed better space craft and engines to leave this system by that time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hubble has reinforced the idea that to see "out" into space is to see "back" and that there is no space past which the light from 15 billion years ago comes!. So the universe is just slightly under 15 billion light years across!. No more!.

The problems inherent in near light travel seem insurmountable!. Perhaps a worm whole technology could end run this but who is going to climb in and see if they are annihilated, and maybe can never come back and say one way or the other!? Can wormholes function as two way avenues!? I doubt it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, but like all great things it will take a toll on the human body and spirit!. Everything great comes with a price, and when we get to these far off planets will we or our next generation be similar to that which left earth or will it change greatly for the different environment that they must sustain to travel that distance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They're actually making a more powerful telescope then the hubble, to see WAY deeper then ever before, The "James Webb Space Telescope", I just wanted to say that, it's so awesome!.

In thoery, we may never go faster then the speed of light, though Who knows!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

sure we most likely all ready have in previous lives!.

life on earth is not old nor is it long!. we each bring our own history to it - the one we remember is perhaps the most limiting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no, we will die b4 we get out of the galaxy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
