I can think of three things!.

1) Relaxation!. When bored, you are not addled by fears and frustrations (like your friend) as typically most of us have to be at some point!. Your guard has to be down to some extent and that only happens when there are no immediate threats!.

2) Reflection!. Time is a valuable thing, and planning is aided by boredom!. People are eager for things to make time speed up while bored; if you consider the opposing benefit, time is potentially slowed down so that you can organize your thoughts and make more meaningful steps when you do act!.

3) Reaction!. A bored mind is idle, and when a situation suddenly presents itself, your brain will be fresh for taking the challenge!. Instead of having to shake off the other thoughts bearing down on you, you're already clear of ideas and can immediately attack the current problem with full attention!.

An advantage would be that you don't have any drama going on in your life at that time!. I remember a while back feeling very restless and bored and then all hell broke loose!. Now I have learned to appreciate the boring times!. also it is a good time for inner reflection!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it makes you pay attention to what could be interesting!. if you're afraid,excited, etc!. you miss out on things!. but bored people usually don't want to be bored anymore so they're keeping their eyes open!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Being bored is really a great task in this present modern world! I say It makes us think that our life's so long!. Just think u r having a good time/busy how the time passes!.
