Question: Acoustic Guitar Finger Picking!?
Hi,

I am learning "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas on Acoustic!. I have the picking pattern down pretty well!. I only pick with my index & thumb!. I also play Landslide by Fleetwood Mac with the same 2 fingers!.!.!.I want to know is it possible to play these songs properly with only those 2 fingers or is it to my advantage to use at least 3!?

I want to know before I get this song engraved in my brain & create a habit I cannot break!.!.!. thanks in advance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Using your other fingers will help your technic for other picking styles!. but unless your learning them for a grade in a class, just do what sounds good and feels right to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your thumb controls the three bass strings!. Your index, middle, and ring fingers each control one of the other strings!. Index controls the 3rd string; middle controls the 2nd; ring controls the 1st!.

That's the PROPER way of fingerpicking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
