Depends on the venue's hiring policy, how large it is, how large an audience it can seat, and on how well known you are!.

They may pay you a percentage of the door -- either with or without a minimum guarantee -- or they may simply pay you a flat fee!.

If you're the opening act for a better-known headliner, you'll probably get a flat fee, and you'll make less than if you were the headliner!.

The only way to know for sure is to contact the booking managers at the venues you want to play at, and find out!.

If you're serious about playing out for pay, you'll need to put together a press or publicity kit, with a demo CD of 2 or 3 of your songs, a publicity photo, bio, and copies of press clippings and reviews of your performances!. Booking managers will ask for these pieces of information, and if you don't have them ready in a kit, they won't take you very seriously as a performer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

me and my band usually get about $300-600!. 600 being the max, its usually around 450/ 500 though!. thats here in california though!. and it also depends HOW small we're talking about, by small i'm thinking anywhere from 100-300 people right!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
