It is a glissando!. You have to practice moving to the Gb by gradually moving the fingers in a smooth silde off of the tone holes from bottom to top starting with the third finger (on the C tone hole) and working your way up the first finger Gb or F# while, at the same time, flexing the embochure to bend the pitch upward!. It takes practice!. Good luck! Have your teacher demonstrate if for you and imitate the sound!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi

On a guitar or piano sheet, that is a slide or glide from C to Gb!. I can't tell you how to do it on a clarinet but it has to slide from C to Gb with one breadth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The "gl!." is for "glissando": it means to slide from the first note to the second!.

glissando-move to the next note smoothly but don't tongue the note-you shouldn't hear the break in betweenWww@QuestionHome@Com
