Question: Painting a Hendrix-based Monterey Strat!?
I want to start a project to paint a Fender Strat based off the guitar Jimi Hendrix burned at the Monterey Pop Festival!. Very iconic, very cool, but I'm sure potentially very time consuming!. I don't want to use the body of my current strat (I don't have one to play if I screw up badly!), so I'm planning to buy a bare body online or locally (in Las Vegas) and paint it from there!.

Could someone, preferably with experience, lend me advice as to how to go about such a project!?

Where can I find blank alder bodies!? (I'm looking at Gregg Rogers guitars and they're selling them for about 150 USD or so) What kind of paint is safe on an alder body!? How should it be applied!? What kind of paint could I use to paint the floral/heart design onto the base colors!? What kind of clear coat should be applied afterwards!?

I don't have much experience in paints and finishes on guitars, so I want to go about this as carefully as I can!. Thanks to anyone that can help!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dude! are you talking about before it was burnt!. Boring! the guy down at Macco could shoot that for you for $50 bucks, now if you want to make it look burnt, still on fire and smoldering! it will take years of practice and the gift, or deep pockets, as far as learning the art, not here on YA friend!. as far as what to use, ask the guy at the counter of the paint store, bodys are abundent on ebayWww@QuestionHome@Com
