Question: What kind of guitar is great for a beginner!?
I recently decided that I would like to learn how to play the guitar!. I'm more interested in the electric than the acoustic, the electric just works more with the types of music I'm interested in!. I just need to know what brands I need to be looking at!. My price range is between $100-250!. Any advice to buying guitars would be much appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

first of all, don't get one from ebay, get one from a site you trust!. or your local guitar center or music shop would be best, so you can try them out!. fender squiers are good for beginners!. epiphone and Ibanez are good too!. since your a beginner, i would suggest getting a value pack, because it comes with everything you need to get started, and the price is low!.
here are good guitars for beginners http://www!.guitarcenter!.com/Electric-Val!.!.!.

this was my first electric guitar http://www!.guitarcenter!.com/Fender-Stop-!.!.!. it will last a bit more than a year, then you might want to get new guitars, if you choose one of the beginner value packs!.

if you don't want a value pack, and just want one that would last pretty long, i would look at the brands : fender, epiphone, gibson , Ibanez, and there are a lot more!.
gibsons last long, they are one of the most famous guitar companies out there!. the cheapest guitar they have, the gibson melody maker, used to be 350$ but is now 480$ if your looking to spend more money for a better quality guitar, go get the gibson melody maker!. but since your beginning, get one of the above metioned!.

for lessons, the best way would be teacher!. if not youtube or www!.expertvillage!.com is good!. http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=5dSp79TDW!.!.!.

i just started guitar too but i think it'd be best to start on an acoustic
b/c they're easier for beginners i've learned!.
but if you're really set on an electric guitar then i'd suggest either the:

Epiphone G-310 SG

~OR~

The Squier Fat Stratocaster

i was also interested in electric so i used this website to help me do some reasearch :]

I'd say a Yamaha Pacifica!. You get a ton of bang for your buck, a decent resale value and they play well!. Plus you can play everything on them from country to death metal and still get good results!.

I personally play Fenders and Ibanez guitars but I have heard good things about the Pacifica range!.

$250 should get you a decent instrument and an amplifier!. I wouldn't go for anything more than a 30 watt to start with!. Line 6 do some nice ones with built in effects!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A Fender Squire is a good beginner guitar!. You might also like an Ibanez!. If you want to play with distortion, get something that has double coil Pickups!. If you use single coil pick ups with distortion they can hum or buzz!. Stay away from first act!. I would lean toward the Ibanez guitars!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I recommend Traveler Guitar, check out their Speedster or Escape line http://www!.travelerguitar!.com/ That was my first guitar! Pair it up with a Roland Micro Cube http://www!.crossroadsguitar!.com/images/p!.!.!. or plug in your headphone and you can practice anywhere anytime!.

Best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
