Question: Why do I suddenly have stage fright!?
I signed up for this singing competition, and now I'm really regretting it! I never used to get nerves, but recently I've been getting really severe stage fright!. Why!? The last sort of solo thing I had in chorus I completely screwed up at the performance!. I was petrified!. For some reason, my voice just wouldn't budge!.

I'm worried about the competition!. It's in front of the whole school, and I really don't want to mess up my reputation as a good singer!. I'm terrified of performing, but even more terrified of failing! I worry that even if I do get up there, I won't be as confident as I usually am and just kind of sing in a mediocre way!.

Any tips to combat very recent stage fright!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stage fright is when your attention is on the listeners rather than the performance!. You must focus on singing your best!. You have to think about each sound, what the words mean, etc!. If you can do that you will not be thinking about audience!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Talk it ovewr with your teacher!. Be honest!. And hormones can cause you to feel nervous in situations where before you did not!.
It is normal to have butterflies!. So practice voga breathing to relax!.
Breath in and hold for 10 seconds and breath out and hold for 10 seconds three times!. You will be much calmer and it will lower your blood pressure and pulse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

think of something else you like or concentrate on your girlfriend downstage LOL
thats the best way!.!.!.dont concentrate that you're singing to the whole school!.!.!.GOOD LUCK!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey!.!.!.join the club!. I used to be like you, always scared of doing solos in front of large crowds!. THis makes me very embarrased and I will start crying in front of the stage!.!.!. which is even more embarrassing!. One day, I was on a plane to Hong Kong!. My parents were in Economy class and I was in Buisness class!. I was sitting next to a stranger and we started talking!. I told him about my fears of going on stage and getting stage fright and he told me," Just don't look at anyone in the crowd," he told me," Think that there is nobody in the audience and think about the things you are going to do on stage instead!.
From then on, I took his advice and didn't cry anymore in front of the stage!. I wasn't scared to perform and I would perform my best!. I was all the main characters in my school plays and even if I make silly mistakes like forgetting my lines, I still wouldn't be scared!.(okay, mabe a bit)
So, breathe slowly when you're backstage, ready to perform and think that NO ONE is in the audience!. When you are done, I guarentee you everebody's gonna give you a pat on the back!. (I don't get pat on the back's anymore since Everyone's getting sick of it!.!.!.probably because they do it to much)Www@QuestionHome@Com

The way you feel comes down to 2 things!. What you focus on and how you're using your body!.

Focus on the fact that 95% of the audience don't have the guts to do what you do!. Focus and remember the times you gave a great performance either to a crowd or in front of a mirror!.

You need to walk out on stage with your chest up and out!. Walk like you own the place!. By doing this, it shifts your physiology and makes it hard to feel terrified!. You might still feel a bit scared but it'll be something you can handle!.

I sang on stage before too, not for competition though, but I did the same thing I recommended you do!. I focused on having fun, entertaining the audience, and how most of them are glad they don't have to be up on stage!. I also walked out on stage with a relaxed confident posture like "these people came to hear ME sing and I'm gonna give them a show"!.

The result!? I had a great time and entertained the audience!. A bit of nerves was present at the very beginning but it went away once I focused on the audience instead of myself and stood confidently!.

Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
