NO NO NO NO do not do this!.
if you want to polish it, both Martin and Gibson guitars make excellent products!.
DO NOT apply oil to your guitar EVER!.
not even the fret board, the fret wires will pull away, what a mess!.
the best thing to do as far as the weather, is a good case!.!.!.and humidity!.
get a humidity gauge!.!.!.!.there are some humidity things you can put into the sound hole of the guitar!.!.!.damp its are one, planet wave has several!.
don't take the guitar out of the case, if you have been in cold weather!.!.!.
let it sit unopened to acclimate!. you could check the finish!.
this salesman gave very poor advice!.!.!.!.!.please don't do this!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you live in a really dry or really humid climate you may want to do something for that!. Really dry climates they make a humidfier you can put in the guitar to keep it from getting too dry!. Really humid climates just don't leave your guitar outside alot!.

Nah skip the oils is my advice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only use products made for guitars to clean and treat your guitar!. the finishes are different than those for other woods!. Martin makes a good guitar polish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
