First things first!. You do know how to count your music right!? Ok i hope!.!. Anywasys what you want to do is take the tempo to about 30bts per minute!. then play your piece while tapping your foot!. Accent your foot or tap really hard on the rests or eith note cuts or the rest before or after the eith note!. Anyways try googling the song and or go to my music playlist !.com and type the song in there!. It should pop up in there!. That site links every song on the internet to that playlist!. So yeah good luck and sorry if i didnt help mutch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am a NYSSMA flute judge!. Just hearing this is not as much help as you think!. NYSSMA does not even START until March, at the earliest for some zones/counties, so you have plenty of time to do this RIGHT with your band director!. The piece is short, and you do not have a lot of scales to prepare at that level, so find a time SOON that you can get off to a good start on this!. You might also ask a more advanced student for help - they can at least get the counting, etc!. down for you!.

Meanwhile, learn all the scales you need to, PERFECTLY, and be able to name the key signature IN ORDER of flats and sharps!. Play something new every day, to work on sightreading!.

If rhythm is a concern, then PUT DOWN THE FLUTE and clap the rhythms while tapping your foot, or staying with a metronome!. If you separate this skill alyer, then you can focus on perfecting it!. This ALWAYS works - and then you are done with it, and can concentrate on the other aspects of your performance!.

I will be judging up and down the Hudson River Valley - maybe I will be your judge! Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
