Well the pick ups you have shown me are Neck and Bridge for the humbuckers!. Now, the reason why pickups actually are made for different positions is the magnetism to make the sound equal or more bass!.

If you put a treble/bridge pick up near the neck it will sound completely terrible because of the most resonance of a guitar is near the neck!. That is why acoustic guitars have a sound hole there!.

If you put a Neck pick up near the bridge it would sound to low and bass like because it is not picking up the proper sound and trying to compisate for more resonance where there is just less!.

The reason why there is less resonance by the bridge is because the bridge is made to soften the vibration of the strings!. And since the strings by the bridge or being held onto it with a few tons of force there is little no not vibration causing the pick up to sound bassy!. The Bridge pick ups are magnetically charged to specially listen to that sound where the neck pick ups are just taking a wider range of string vibration!.

If you are also confused about how pick ups work!. Think a radio antenna!. There is a slight amount of electricity on the strings and when vibrated it makes a frequency to pick up that information!.

I hope this helped you out a lot a lot so you do not make that mistake!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

YES!.!.!.they have guitars with 2, 4, or 6 of the same pickups!.!.!.

(edit) those are humbucker style pickups!. they are good if your going to play really loud with distortion and effects!. the neck one will give you a rich brighter sound and the bridge one is better for low end stuffWww@QuestionHome@Com
