How can I learn how to play the Guitar?

Question: How can I learn how to play the Guitar!?

I am recently getting a Guitar for Christmas *Hopefully* But I am just wondering what I should do on learning how to play it!. I am going to be a beginner and I don't know what type of Guitar I should get that will help out beginners such as my self and I just want to play the Guitar because I want to get into the music just for fun!. And I don't know what kind of Guitar I am suppose to get, Any help would be nice and would be appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well as much as it may be better to start acoustic, you are likely to have more fun with an electric to begin with!.
Either way, just get a GOOD teacher
and by that i mean someone who can teach you the theory behind the guitar, sure you can learn songs faster by yourself, but knowing the theory is the most important tool i have ever learned as far as guitar playing goesWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well since your a beginner, i would suggest a normal Classical guitar!.
