I'd really like to start playing in 2009, and i've already gotten most of the money i would need!. My parents aren't very encouraging, and are saying that i probably wouldn't be able to get very good since i didn't start when i was younger!.

Work with others as much as possible!. Is there someone at school (a teacher) who can help you!? I know of at least one person who did not start until they were 50 and did very well!. I know people who didn't start til they were fifty!!!!!!! its all about you!. you just have to work hard and focus!. find a great teacher, and you can go far!. it wont effect you that much!. you just have to work harder if you're going to want to play it in college or something!. forget what your parents said!.Www@QuestionHome@Com no i started learning last year (13) and im stopping this year only coz i dnt really fancy it but i know how to play about 20 short songs and i know a range of skills other tha basics and i can sort of read music now i know what fingers to put where and stuff if ou know how o read music then you will have no trouble at all!Www@QuestionHome@Com Yes!.!.!. you will be like the big kid in swimming lessons!.
