Question: Classical guitar string problem!?
I was changing the strings to my classical guitar when I had a problem!. My tenor E while winding up the string would drop a couple notes!.

What I mean is, when it made it to C would drop down to B!. I would keep winding and when I reach C again, same thing!. Why is it doing that!?!?

ThanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

Classical strings are difficult as they stretch so much, and the tuning pegs kind of stink!. Make sure it's tied well at both ends of the guitar!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would LOVE to see just HOW you secured the lower end of the string!. Usually your problem happens because people don't know the proper way to secure it!.!. since they don't think they need a teacher or how to get help from a lutier to show them the proper way!.

I have a number of classical guitars and, after a short breaking in time, the strings will stay within a fraction of tune, even if I don't play the guitar for a week or two!.!. I can just pick it up and make a quick!.!. less than half turn adjustment!.!. and away I can go!.

The MAIN problem with guitars that won't keep in tune is CHEAP GUITARS!.!. if you buy a $100 guitar then IT'S NOT GOING TO STAY IN TUNE!.!.!. but the problem is the GUITAR it's not the strings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nylon-strung guitars are a headache to keep in tune, primarily because of the peg mechanism and the string itself!.

That is one of the main reasons I ignore my classical and folk guitars and play my steel string guitars!.

You may consider taking your guitar to a reputable music store and ask how best to string the instrument and keep it in tune!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have a professional look at it!. You can find one at http://www!.repairmyguitar!.comWww@QuestionHome@Com

The only thing I can think is that the string is sliding off of the tuning peg!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
