Question: How Important Is The Honors Band!?
A few days ago, I was nominated to a Junior Honors Band!. I accepted, of course, but I don't exactly know much about it!. All I know is that my Band director chose ten people-- two flutes (one of them was me), two clarinets, two trumpets, etc!. There are two rehearsals (chair placements in the first one), and a concert in January!.
What I'm wondering is, how important is this!? And can anyone tell me more about it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I did an honors band about a year ago at Virginia Tech!. It was pretty fun and it looks great on a college application, even though it doesn't mean you excel at your instrument, it just means you are an honorable person!.
I thought it was a great musical experience too!. I had some intensive training in flute (my instrument) and it paid off in the long run!.
It's pretty cool and useful, so I think you should do it!. Be prepared to wait a long time after placements though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Extremely important, you should be so proud, you will get to meet the nicest people!. Practice, practice, commit to memory, play it with your eyes closed!. Go for it, congrats!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Honors Bands are definitely important for resumes and networking, but I'm not sure what kind of honor band this is, because they are normally audition only, not band director choice!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
