Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: to start to learn guitar the electric is far more fun as it has buttons, more volume, and sounds that the acoustic dont!.Its also easier to play!. However, they suggest starting on an acoustic for many reasons, as in the long run, it will make you a cleaner more versatile player!. The techniques involved in each is also different and can be worlds apart!. You would not go to a race using a bus!., though, basically it drives the same way as a car!.They are just not the same are they!. It's because the teacher wants them to learn they way he/she wants and never cares about the students way of learning!.
