The Otto Link is probably the cheapest metal mp for alto you can find!.(http://www!.wwbw!.com/Otto-Link-Metal-Alto!.!.!. There are a lot better metal mp's out there, but they cost a lot of money for a good one, and from your given price range, I'm pretty sure you're not looking for those!.
Unless you have been playing for a while and know you want a metal mp, I'd recommend a hard rubber mouthpiece!. I'd recommend going with either a Meyer (http://www!.wwbw!.com/Meyer-Hard-Rubber-Al!.!.!. or a rubber Otto Link (http://www!.wwbw!.com/Otto-Link-Alto-Sax-M!.!.!. You could also look at VanDorens (http://www!.wwbw!.com/Otto-Link-Alto-Sax-M!.!.!.
I'd recommend seeing if they have some of these mouthpieces at a local music store!. They will usually allow you to play test them (usually a small sterilization fee) and you can find your best fit!.
If not, WWBW(all links above) and some other online music warehouses may let you make a deferred payment, in which you get shipped a max of about 4 mp's and you can not be charged at first, then you may pay for and keep as many as you want or send them all back (still a small sterilization and shipping cost)
Good luck finding a good mouthpieceWww@QuestionHome@Com
