Are you referring to the Phrygian Mode!? I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about but if it is then I can explain it to you!. The Phrygian mode is a type of scale based off of the 3rd scale degree in a Major scale!. If you were to play a E scale with no sharps or flats, you would be playing a Phrygian mode on E!. It would look like this:
E F G A B C D E
If you want to play this in a different key, you would have to look at the intervals in the scale played on E and correspond them to the key you are now in!. If you'll notice, a Phrygian mode is made up of whole and half steps in this order:
half whole whole whole half whole whole
With that information, you will be able to build this scale in any key!. If you wanted to play it in G, it would look like this:
G Ab Bb C D Eb F G
I hope this wasn't too confusing!. If you have any questions feel free to email me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Phrygian" is a kind of modal scale often used in rock music, that starts on the 3rd note of the related major scale!.

If you're playing in the key of C, for example, the major scale would be: C D E F G A B C

The E Phrygian mode uses the same notes as the C major scale but starting on the 3rd note of the C scale (E) and running up to the next highest E: E F G A B C D E

If you're playing in the key of G, for example, the major scale would be: G A B C D E F# G, then the related Phrygian mode would be B Phrygian, which starts on the 3rd note of the G major scale (B) and runs to the next highest B: B C D E F# G A B

In the key of A major: A B C# D E F# G# A -- the Phrygian mode would be C# Phrygian, since C# is the 3rd note of the A major scale:
C# D E F# G# A B C#
