yeah ok, go with an acoustic!. listen to your favorite bands and if you like the distortion sounds on those songs!. distortion can sound many different ways with different equipment!. it's easy to go overboard, but even bands like the Beatles or Eric Clapton use a touch of distortion!. That's electric guitar with a powerful driving tone!. Same with Queen!. Youtube 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen, that's electric guitar, with a clean distorted sound!. It really sings in a way that acoustic cannot do!. If you're going to be in a band, I'd say have both!. Acoustic is really the best to learn on!. Go ahead and get an acoustic for now!. I used to put plastic candy wrappers between the strings on my acoustic to get a distortion sound back in the day!. But I wouldn't write off distortion entirely!. It really rocks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you kidding!? Electric guitars came around before distortion!.

Listen to The Beatles or anything from the 1960s!. Even today, tons of great music is made on electric guitars without distortion!.

I'm not really sure what you're asking, but electric guitars aren't just automatically distorted!. The distortion comes completely from the amplifier or the pedal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
