Nobody likes the way they sound to themselves on a recording!.
there was a question a few weeks back, asking the same thing about not liking the way they sounded and were they weird!.!?

Every answer came back, NO!. everyone hates the way they sound!.

Unless they are total egotists, and into themselves, which probably means they suck anyway!.

So don't worry about it,Dude!.

I hate the way I sound too, but I have been a professional musician and a lead singer in a band that that had musicians from Grammy award winning bands like Santana and Inner Circle!.

Everyone said I was a great singer, But I can't stand the way I sound when I listen to my own voice!.

If you really are nasally, make an effort to open your mouth a bit more and keep your tongue away from the back of your throat, which is what that one person was saying about freeing up your soft palette!.

What matters most is that people like the way you sing!. So ease up on yourself and enjoy it!

Don't judge your voice based on cheap recordings!. Simple voice recorders don't capture the full, harmonic range of your voice!. A piano will sound similarly "tinny"!. Record your voice in a proper studio with excellent mics & acoustics, before judging yourself "too nasal"!.

also, get lessons from a coach who can teach you how to sing from the diaphragm!. You blow air through your throat like a flute, not through your head & nose!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not all singers that make it big have nice sounding voices!. Sometimes different is good!. If your singing church music, go find a voice coach!. If your singing rock, don't worrie about the voice too much!. I always thought that singers like Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, Axel Rose, Susanna Hoffs have voices that are different and thats what made them popular!. Maybe it's not your voice but what your singing!. also it just might be that you hear your own voice different then what it really sounds like!. When I hear my voice on a recording (vcr) it sounds funny and I don't think it sounds like me yet everyone else sounds normal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've taken voice lessons for 4 years and choir for 5!. I've never personally had this problem, but I know of people that do!. What the instructors would tell them to do was to create more space in the mouth by lifting up the soft palate!. You still want to make sure that the tip of your tongue is against the line between your gums and your bottom teeth!. also, raise the middle of the tongue a bit!. Make sure that you're using and getting enough air, and put some ring in your tone, too!. An instructor can help you with this if you're not able to accomplish it on your own, or if you don't know what I'm talking about!. This will take practice, and it seems hard at first, but it makes a BIG difference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

usually when you sound a bit nasally when you sing is when your out of your vocal range!. you should just try singing in different pitches to figure out what is best for you!. hope i helped
