Hi Noise Box

The best exercsies for metal solos is to use diminished arpeggios (seeeps) and relative diminish scales and whole tone scales!.
You have to know your modes so that you can use riffs that are not on key but still, relative to it!.

Here is a good site which will help you in chording, appropriate scale to do, as well as chord progression and what scales to solo with!.

Metal traditional is played in minor keys!. The harmonic minor is one of the more popular as well as the phrygian mode!.

Rather than giving you a progression to do, I'll only give you the chords to play and allow you to make up the progression!. It's best for you to use your own creativity!. If you want a nice dark chord progression to lead over, try playing a combination of E, F and G and perhaps even throw in a D or C somewhere!. If you have the ability, record this progression you've made!. Play it over and over for about 4-5 minutes!. It will get real boring, but it will give you a nice rhythm track to practice your leads!.

If you want an easier way, go to http://www!.guitar-wav!.com/!. There are some real basic tracks with drums, bass and guitar!. They aren't great, but they will do the job for now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
