Question: Are senior citizens abel to learn rapid fingering on a clarinet!?
How long does it normally take (from beginning to learn to play) to get up to a good speed of 100 beats per minute, when there are a lot of sixteenth notes!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on each person's musical ability and how much work they put into it!. If the person has no musical experience, I would not expect them to be able to play that quickly, even after working at it for a long time!. It also depends on how technically difficult the fingering patterns are and the articulation involved!.

Given the fact that they are senior citizens, I wouldn't have any kind of expectation for them to be able to play something of that speed even if they work really hard at it!. That would be unrealistic!. If it is some kind of piece that has many players, only have them play the first and third note in each group which would make it so much easier for them!.

And when I play clarinet (or oboe) I can easily spend two or more hours on one 8 measure phrase going at that speed!.
