Question: Help me please choose the right guitar!?
I wanted to play some songs like Sarah McLaughlin Angel or How do I live by Leeanne rhymes (not so much country but slow ballad type songs)!. But don't know if I should get an electric acoustic or a Regular acoustic!. Do they sound different!? Do you have to have the amp for the electric acoustic or do you just have the option for an amp!?

Please help thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Electric acoustic sounds the same, only it has a socket where you can plug it into an amp for very loud sounds, in case you ever wanted to play at a concert or anything with mass amounts of people!.

If i where you i would go for the Acoustic electric guitar, espically if you want to play country music!.

An electric guitar is normally for Rock music and or death metal of the sorts!.

And if you got an acoustic electric then one day if you ever got the nerve to try and play some rock music you would still be able to rock out!.

the electric acoustic is amazing - my dad has one!. it can be used normally without an amp!. it sounds just about the same as a regular acousticWww@QuestionHome@Com

now wait just a minute!.!.!. choosing a guitar is not a simple as saying i want either acoustic or electric!.!.!.!.!.
here's the skinny for acoustics
1!. you need one with solid woods (louder, quality and sound are better)
2!. you need one that stays in tune
3!. you need callouses (they come with practice tho)
4!. many acoustics can have the on-board preamp or a socket for an amp!.
5!. for a decent acoustic, go for one that sounds and feels good, not the flashiest or most colorful despite your impulses!.
6!. figure $450 for and epiphone masterbilt (not just any epiphone) it's a great guitar solid, good sounding, and affordably priced!.

heres the skinny on electrics!.!.!.!.
1!.they come in solid, chambered, and semi solid
2!.they are smaller than acoustics and most are more durable
3!. the best country electrics are definately the fender telecaster, and stratocaster!. a decent one will cost around $300 used, $450 new but they will last you forever!.
4!.semi solids are neither as loud or pleasant as acoustics, or as comfortable or good sounding as a solid electric so i'd avoid them completely!.

skinny on amps!.!.!.!.
1!. they range from $50-$20,000 but you'd prolly better stick to the hundreds range
2!. are either solid state, tube, or hybrid (go by what sounds best for you)
3!. most on the market today have a good sounding clean channel ( like what you would want in an acoustic) and a "drive channel" which can go from blues to hard rock
4!. acoustic amps generally are more fragile and expensive so!.!.!.!.

bottom line!.!.!.
i'd go for a cheap telecaster with whatever amp you can afford, but try both worlds first, don't listen when people say electrics are just for death metal, and dont listen to the idiots who say acoustics are weak!.

and buy a starter guitar book nomatter what you do!.!.!.
cuz it'll point you in the rite direction and prtect your investment!.
hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com
