Berklee Press Modern Method, Volume 1!. Go through the whole series, they're great!. You'll learn to read music in tab and standard notation right off the bat, which makes it infinitely easier to learn advanced techniques as you go on!. It contains full songs as well as practice drills for developing technique!.

If you want to learn from scratch, buy Teach Yourself Visually Guitar!. That's a REALLY good book to learn from if you can't afford lesssons or just want to learn how to play simple songs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
