Question: How long does it take to learn how to play the drums!?

Hey, I wanna learn how to play the drums and possibly be in a band!. I love music, and i've always been naturally good with instruments!. So i was wondering, with lessons, how long about would it take to learn how the play the drums good enough to play in a rock band!? ThanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

With a good teacher, if you're practicing regularly and efficiently, you ought to be able to start working out in maybe six months--longer or shorter depending on how fast you pick up!. Stamina is another consideration; you should try to build stamina wisely by starting out with four short practice sessions daily (say, 15 or 20 minutes tops each time), and then slowly increasing the time and eventually combining the sessions so that you are playing over an hour at a stretch!. If you can hold down a solid shuffle beat for several songs at a time, you're ready to take the stage!.

Now, that's as a rudimentary drummer in a garage band!. If you want to play prog rock or jazz fusion or anything more complex, give yourself a few years to work up to it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it is pretty easy, you just have to have good rhythm and beat, i'd say about 6 months to a year, but it really depends what sense of time you have and how much you're willing to practice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
