From Panto's to plays!. Have a National Diploma in Performing arts from my recent college!. I am taking it further to study at Lincoln University where i will study drama!. My question is does anyone know how you get into being an extra for tv and commericals in yorkshire!? I have tried websites which hook you in then you have to pay which are all a con!. Show up, talk to the casting director, and they will point you in the right direction!. You won't always get paid, and you will have to stand around and do nothing for about 98% of the 12-16 hour days, but you'll get on!. NOW COMMERCIALS! Thats different!. Call your local TV stations and ask for the commercial production department!. Call local ad agencys!. See a bad commercial on TV!? Call the business and offer to be in it for free!. Commercials are a MUCH better way to get exposure!. And if your good you've got a shot at being a spokesperson, especially for like a local car dealership/ Much much better shot at getting paid too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com sign up with an agency and they put you foward to many audittions for many roles; tv extras, being in adverts, musical theatre and movies etc!.!.!. although, like you said many agencies you have to pay for to join but i think its only a one off payment for some, well worth it though cos if you get into little jobs then you might be recommended for bigger ones!. worth a try!. hope this helps!. To get regular 'walk on' parts you will need to live / stay near studios!.
