I can think of no good reason not to let you have one, and I'm a parent, $29 bucks at walmart, if it turns out to be a fad I'm only out $29, if you turn out to be good at it and stick with it, it will cost alot more, take my word for it, my kid started in the $49 range, he's up in the $300 range now!. and looking to move up to something real nice if he keeps his grades upWww@QuestionHome@Com get the guitar yourself, play with it without having to need lessons, just playing around on it will help you learn!. Screw your parents, you should do what makes you happy!. You can get a decent Ibanez or Oscar Schmidt guitar at pawn shops or online for about 120 bucks (and those are pretty decent starter guitars acoustics, basses, and electrics)!.!.!.and you can read everything you need to know on the internet!. Just do it, don't let someone tell you that you can't!. If you want to do it, then screw those that try to tell you not to, especially if its a dream/hobby/or whatever you want to learn about!.
