Hey Paco

The guitar cannot play by itself!. It will only sound as good as you are!. If you are just good on the guitar, then the guitar will sound just good!. Just go on youtube and check out these good musician and they didn't invest in top notch guitar!.
Buy the guitar that goes with the type of music you want to play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

An old friend of mine once said to me: "A quality instrument will totally change the way that you play"!.

Don't take this to mean that you'll instantly turn into a virtuoso guitar player though!. What this really means is that if you have a crappy guitar, you might have problems with action, intonation, grounding issues, etc!. Your playing style will develop to compensate for your instrument's shortcomings!. When you get a reasonable instrument, you'll slowly learn to drop the habits you had to pick up to get a reasonable sound!. Personally, I went from an Ibanez Roadstar II (from the days when Ibanez was still making strat knockoffs) to a Gibson SG special, the guitar I used for the next ten years or so!. It turned out that he was right, but it wasn't a quick process!.

Hope this helps!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

great musicians can make a crappy instrument sound ethereal!
Poor musicians can make a superior instrument sound like a bucket of crap!.
While a quality instrument is easier to play, it truly is the musician that makes the difference! I suggest you invest that money in lessons so you learn how to control your guitar, then when your talent deserves a better instrument-go get one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally, yes, a superior instrument will play easier and will have a better tone than an inferior one!.

Price does not necessarily indicate quality!. Sometimes, two instruments from the same manufacturer, same model, same strings, etc!., will sound slightly different!. There are tiny variations in wood grain and glue drying and so forth that can affect vibrations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

TR has a point, take any of the Chinese budget guitars 1 in 10 will be a really decent guitar, 7 of the others will be playable and 2 will be complete junk, best to just find a music store, thats how I found my Ibanez, used, plays great!. my kid plays it now, moved up to American Guitars awhile ago and never went back, but thats how you find a guitar and sometimes they find you, see!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
