Question: How do I know what NYSSMA level I am!?
I play clarinet and I want to join a music program in my city, but I don't know what my "NYSSMA" level is, so I'm not sure if I'm good enough!. If this helps, I know most of my scales and I am on the Rubank Intermediate book!.
Thanks =] Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am a NYSSMA woodwind, voice, and piano judge!. You do not know what NYSSMA level you until you are playing a solo from the NYSSMA Manual!. Perhaps your school teacher can estimate for you!. There are specific requirements of how many scales you need to be able to play for each level, and you must sight-read for NYSSMA, too!. If the music program in your city wants you to be at a certain NYSSMA level, you must be able to do all three of these things!. Only your own teacher can tell you if you are there yet!.
